See for yourself why evoDOMUS is the evolution of the home!

Building Envelope

The most important part of an energy efficient house is the thermal envelope, the walls, windows, roof and foundation.

evoDOMUS homes are built to an exceptionally high level of quality and sustainability. In our new MOD+ wall system we use Roxul mineral wool insulation, plus a continuous layer of 1 ½ inch rigid foam insulation to provide R-30.5 to 32.5 comfort and to minimize thermal bridging.

The thermal resistance our roof system is a minimum of R-50, using Roxul  mineral wool between the joists plus a minimum of 3” rigid insulation above sheathing. For the interior floor system, our T+G OSB structural subfloors are glued and nailed to provide optimal strength.

We use German triple-pane windows, made by Unilux, which combine low-emissivity coatings, argon gas filled cavities, and thermally broken window frames to deliver exceptionally high insulation values, which assist in the self-regulation of the interior home climate.  Windows are available in two options: Vinyl (standard) and wood/aluminum (upgrade)

Our homes are available with Energy Star certification.

Technical Systems

Ventilation and moisture control

Controlled ventilation is a necessary component of an energy efficient home. Built extraordinarily airtight to prevent heat loss, evoDOMUS homes are equipped with heat recovery ventilation systems to provide a continuous flow of fresh, filtered air. This advanced technology preheats incoming fresh air with the embodied air temperature of the exhaust air from the home. Heating or is provided by either ductless wall mounted (standard) or concealed and ducted (upgrade), highly-efficient mini-split heat pumps.

Water heating systems include electric heat pump powered water heaters and recirculation pumps.

Electricity and Alternative Energy Systems

Standard evoDOMUS lighting sources are either LED or fluorescent, that are consistent with the high quality and style of our homes. While evoDOMUS homes are connected to the electric energy grid, an optional PV solar panel system can provide renewable energy to lower your energy costs or even achieve a net-zero energy balance, depending on the design, location and solar orientation of your home. The cost efficiency and size of a solar array require case-by-case evaluation.

Materials and Products

To complement our homes' generous, open and light-filled spaces, our materials are simple, elegant and distinctive. Our selections include a wide variety of finishes and fittings enabling you to create a truly individual home that expresses your sense of beauty and style. In the interest of safeguarding your health and reducing the ecological footprint of your new evoDOMUS home, we use low or no VOC paints and finishes in our homes as well as natural materials.

Our material selections consist predominantly of products with high-recycle content, as well as FSC certified woods and bamboo.

Plumbing fixtures include features such as lower water consuming faucets and shower heads, and wall-hung dual-flush toilets. A gray water recycling system can also be specified for the treatment and reuse of shower, sink and lavatory water in toilets. Additional possible upgrades include geothermal heat and wind power.

Because they have met strict energy-efficiency guidelines, we have selected a range of Energy Star appliances for your kitchen and bathrooms, with optional upgrades available.
